Dentist by Day, Dad Always

Meet Dr. Cody Calderwood - A Dentist You’ll Actually Like

Dr. Cody Calderwood

Dr. Calderwood didn’t become a dentist to chase titles – he just genuinely likes helping people feel comfortable in the chair and confident in their smile.

Utah born and raised, he headed east for dental school (University of Maryland) after BYU, then came straight back home to Park City in 2009 to start practicing.

He’s also a proud dad of six in a blended family with his wife, Kristin. At home and in the office, it’s all about connection.

"My favorite part of dentistry is getting to know my patients and learning about the things that are important to them."

Fluent in Spanish, Fluent in People

After serving a mission in Hermosillo, Mexico, Dr. Calderwood came home with more than just fluent Spanish. His love for the culture and people continues to shape how he connects with patients from all backgrounds.

Just For Fun

What’s something small that makes your day instantly better?

Getting a patient to laugh or smile!

What’s one thing your kids tease you about?

My kids tease me about being so goofy in public. I tend to embarrass them in public by doing goofy dances, or being overly affectionate with them or their mom in an attempt to get a reaction from them.

Favorite comfort food after a long day?

It has to be ice cream. I could sit down and eat an entire pint of ice cream by myself. Other than the calories, I love to eat ice cream.

Craziest place you’ve ever brushed your teeth?

Probably on some of my backpacking trips in wilderness areas. Like last year in the Wind River range. I remember waking up in the morning and brushing my teeth as I'm looking out over a high alpine lake and some beautiful granite peaks in the still, quiet morning hours.
